Maru - Murfreesboro: A Hidden Gem for Authentic Asian Cuisine

Top-notch all around! The food was absolutely delicious—everything from the fried dumplings to the crispy sushi roll and the beef yakisoba hit the spot. The fried rice was packed with flavor, and everything came out fresh and fast. The plating was beautiful, the service was quick and friendly, and the whole experience felt like a hidden gem. If you’re in Murfreesboro and craving high-quality Asian cuisine, Maru is 100% worth it.

Very nice sushi option with a plentiful menu! This was a terrific place to procure some excellent sushi. The Roe Effect was an amazing experience and very well made. The Nigori rice wine (chilled) is a great compliment to the dish. Highly recommend this place!

Everything we ordered was amazing. Definitely somewhere you need to go to try for yourself. My favorite two items I’ve tried so far are the Hot Night Sushi Roll and the bibimbap. Great modern ambiance. When I walked through the door I was greeted with a smile and promptly seated. The staff was kind and friendly. I ordered the fried pork dumplings and the Baja roll. The dumplings were delicious and while the roll was not my favorite, it was executed well and as described on the menu. I'll definitely be back to give some of the other items a try.

Wow. Wow. Wow!!!!! Big thanks to Nat for a wonderful dinner. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a bunch of apps and entrees were chicken yaki udon with extra veg, and the crunchy mania and play boy rolls. The play boy was one of the best rolls I’ve ever had! Nat is a true gem, her bubbly and friendly personality and helpfulness was very memorable! Thank you!!!

Clean, large spaces, clear view to kitchen, tall ceilings. Had a chirashi sashimi, super fresh. Had squid în it which I do not like, the server noticed and brought me salmon sashimi as replacement. Absolutely spot on service . A bit noisy from the kitchen but solid quality Japanese food

The restaurant was a bit stark. We love sitting at the bar but it is quite plain. The service was good. We started with the bang bang shrimp. It was ok. The yum yum sushi roll and other roll with tuna was excellent the teriyaki chicken not so much. It was drizzled fajita cut chicken very little taste. The fried rice was average.

As someone who has high standards for Asian cuisine, I only have two go to sushi spots in town that I genuinely love. But let me tell you, Maru blew my mind in every possible way! From the moment we stepped inside, the service was nothing short of fabulous, attentive and friendly. Then came the food: an explosion of flavors that celebrated the freshness of each ingredient! And the atmosphere? Absolutely stunning! The restaurant was spacious and beautifully decorated, channeling a modern yet cozy vibe that instantly reminded me of the trendy spots you'd find in Nashville. What an incredible experience!
